What does a VBC do?

In this role, you’ll be leading, managing, engaging and motivating a team. From allocating vehicles and resources to briefing colleagues, your day will be stimulating and varied!

VBCs work in our vehicle bases

We have 12 depots across England and Wales, located in:

  • Birmingham, Hucknall, Leicester and Lincoln in the Midlands

  • Bridgend and Wrexham in Wales

  • Liverpool, Manchester and Preston in North West England

  • Hull and Pontefract in Yorkshire

  • Spennymoor in North East England.

We have eight depots across Scotland, located in:

  • Bellshill, Dumfries, Edinburgh and Kilmarnock in the south of Scotland

  • Aberdeen, Grangemouth, Inverness and Perth in the north of Scotland.

 FAQs

  • VBCs are security vetted, in England and Wales, through Enhanced Level 2 (HMPPS) and in Scotland, undergo an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) pre-employment screening check to ensure you are suitable to work with vulnerable adults and/or children. In addition, in England and Wales, we also conduct a thorough background check to examine criminal records, including both spent and unspent convictions, as well as cautions, warnings, reprimands, and any police intelligence. Pre employment screening also covers a financial check and a full five-year work history check.
